Deborah presents a diverse range of TV and Radio programming from anchoring Regional and Breakfast News to writing and presenting Travel, Tourism, Consumer, and Property shows. Deborah’s radio broadcasting includes: writing and presenting ‘In the Bag’, a weekly Sunday afternoon series interviewing Christian celebrities for Premier Radio, contributing weekly to BBC Radio Manchester’s ‘Sunday Breakfast’ and regularly writing/presenting for BBC Radio 2’ Pause for Thought’.
Deborah is an experienced speaker and has gained a reputation on the speaking circuit for being an inspiring and moving motivational speaker.
Deborah’s story prior to broadcasting is fascinating. Born in Warwickshire in April 1970, she grew up and was educated in Solihull. (As a child, she attended Birmingham Theatre School, taking part in a number of productions and cameo parts for TV) On completing her “A” level studies, she lived in Newcastle upon Tyne for a year working voluntarily with the Deaf Association and teaching sign language.
In 1988 at the age of eighteen, Deborah joined a religious order that worked in the media, and was based in both London and Rome. During that time, she wrote and presented for Radio (in Italian and English) and as a young Sister returning to London, Deborah researched, wrote and presented for BBC Radio 2’s “Pause for Thought”. Some other programmes included, “Just a Moment” and “Stand Up and Be Counted”.
Whilst Deborah felt strongly that her years in the religious life were a ‘meant to be experience’ and a preparation for what life had in store, she took the brave step of leaving the convent in 1994. Keen to live a meaningful and fulfilling life but without the habit, Deborah worked in Charitable Fundraising, PR and Freelance Broadcasting, working at home and abroad for a number of charities implementing ambitious, high profile voluntary income plans, PR and Marketing campaigns ...MORE...
